The Geneseo Central School District has unveiled the remodel of its music rooms.
On Nov. 20, music teachers and administration officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new choral and instrumental rooms that are part of the 2021 voter-approved capital improvement project. The changes include extra instructional space for students and teachers, new LED lighting and panels for improved sound quality. A dedicated practice room was added to the band room that will allow students to work on their music and record.
“This is a really exciting time for us and for me in my career,” Music teacher Joe Sciolino said. “In my 17 years of teaching, this is the first time I’ve ever walked into a brand new band room that was our own. It’s great to see the look of wonder and excitement on the kids' faces to be in a room that looks dramatically different than before.”
