On Tuesday, May 16, voters in the Geneseo Central School District passed a $24,223,237 budget proposal for the 2023-24 school year by a vote of 407 (yes) to 85 (no). Residents also approved the purchase of three diesel-powered 77-passenger buses by a vote of 397 (yes) to 94 (no), and elected the following candidates to the Board of Education: Matt Mallaber: 339 votes Dawn Ellis: 316 votes *The third seat will be announced on May 17, after the winning write-in candidate confirms approval of the seat. Families with a last name starting with A - M are asked to attend from 11:00-11:30 and those with a last name starting with N - Z are asked to attend from 11:30-12:00. Families are welcome to bring in student supplies, meet the teachers, and get excited for the first day!
