GCS to Transition to Digital Tax Receipts for Greater Efficiency and Cost Savings

In an effort to reduce spending, the Board of Education has announced that, starting with the 2025-2026 school year, tax receipts will no longer be mailed to individual taxpayers. Instead, receipts will be available online for printing or by request. This change is expected to result in a net savings of nearly $7,500.

Board of Education Michael Tenalio emphasized the district's commitment to financial efficiency, stating, "Our District Business Leaders are conducting a comprehensive internal financial audit to identify areas where we can be more efficient while effectively managing our resources."

One area identified for savings is the cost and labor involved in tax collection. Tenalio explained, "Essentially. it is labor-intensive activity with added costs for postage and mailing. Because we recognize that some in our community may still prefer a printed tax receipt, you can check a box when you pay your taxes to receive a printed receipt. Alternatively, you can get your receipt at the tax website."

Tax recipts and bills can be printed from the websites above.
